PCO Manufacturing, a pharmaceutical company based in North County Dublin, is a market leader in Parallel Importing and has established very strong client relationships with pharmacies across Ireland for almost 40 years. Our expansion in recent years has meant growth across all functions within the company. We now have an opportunity for an IT Manager to join the team.

This role is based in our offices in Ashbourne Co. Meath.
About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to oversee the IT operations in our organisation. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our IT department and ensuring the efficient planning and effective delivery of IT services across our site. You will be a functional head and will be part of the management team within the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Management Team, this role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of IT management principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for managing a team, budgeting, third-party supplier relationships, IT strategy and planning, and other key areas.

To be successful as the IT Manager, you should have an excellent technical aptitude, as well as superior project and people management skills.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all IT operations infrastructure across the site.
  • Developing our IT strategy in line with the business objectives and associated budgeting and planning.
  • Manage the company's IT budget, ensuring that resources are used effectively.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating IT projects in line with organisational objectives.
  • Liaising with other departments to determine and address their IT needs and requirements.
  • Fostering an effective working relationship with all functions and stakeholders across the business.
  • Managing and supervising employee in the IT department which currently consists of one other team member.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of current projects and technology systems.
  • Identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring that the cyber security of all systems is protected.
  • Proposing strategic solutions and recommending new systems and software.
  • Bringing forward IT and System solutions to meet business needs.
  • Providing timely and important information and reports for a non-IT audience.
  • Preparing financial budgets and performance reports.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external advisors and vendors.
  • Ensuring reported issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to end-users to ensure that they are able to effectively utilise the company's IT systems.


Key Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A commitment to continued education, such as software certifications, is desirable.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in an IT management role, preferably in a small to medium-sized organisation.
  • Sound working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft systems.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project or comparative tools.
  • Understanding of platforms such as ERP systems.
